William M. and Verna (Miller) Ternent Endowed Scholarship

Applicants must be enrolled full-time at FSU. The recipient(s) must have an overall grade point average of at least 3.0 with a major in one of the following: early childhood/elementary education, elementary/middle education, recreation and parks management, and/or wildlife and fisheries. Preference will be given to students with an early childhood/elementary education major. The recipient(s) must be a graduate of and/or resident from the Mountain Ridge High School district. Priority will be given in the following order: a) residents of Lonaconing (21539 zip code); b) residents of George’s Creek (21521, 21542, 21562 zip codes); c) residents from the Mountain Ridge High School district not in a) or b) applicants having demonstrated financial need. Need is determined by applicants’ completion of a current FAFSA form which must be submitted by published financial aid deadlines. The award may be renewed up to four consecutive years as long as all criteria has been met.
