Commissioner Charles E. Spahr Presidential Merit Scholarship

A recipient will be enrolled full-time at FSU with an overall grade point average of at least 3.5. Incoming freshman applicants must demonstrate strong academic achievement in high school as evidenced by enrollment in college-level and/or Advanced Placement (AP) classes. A recipient will demonstrate a desire to pursue leadership opportunities as evidenced by application and essay outlining past experience in extra-curricular and/or community service activities at the high school and/or college level. Transfer students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5. Preference will be given in order of importance to applicant(s) who have 1) demonstrated academic ability; 2) demonstrated financial need; and/or 3) demonstrated history of/or interest in public service through a) volunteerism b) community service c) political activism or d) participation in uniform services (i.e. junior firemen; police explorers; JROTC; scouting; etc.) who engage in these aforementioned activities.
