Martha T. and Ralph M. Race Western History Scholarship

Recipients will be juniors, seniors, or graduate level and pursuing teacher education certification requirements with a demonstrated record of completed history courses. Applicants must have declared an intent to teach Western History at the middle or high school level. Applicants must have demonstrated ability in the study of history with a grade point average of 3.0 or better in completed history courses and a minimum 2.8 grade point average overall. Recipients must agree to complete an annual follow-up career survey for a minimum of ten years following the completion of studies at FSU. Preference in order of importance: a) Renewal applicants. Awards may be received for two consecutive years if an overall grade point average of 3.0 or better is maintained and the declaration of the major is maintained. Annual re-application is required. b) Applicants declaring an intent to teach in the State of Maryland. c) Applicants with demonstrated academic ability.
