Howard and Audrey Naylor Scholarship
The candidate must meet all standard requirements for entrance into the graduate school of Frostburg State University and the College of Education and at the time of award be a full-time or part-time graduate student in Frostburg State University’s College of Education Special Education program. Preference may be given to candidates who aspire to teach, or currently teach, in the Appalachian region. Applicant’s program of study should focus on developing effective skills, strategies, and dispositions that prepare candidates to be exemplary educators of students with Down syndrome or autistic characteristics. Preference will be given to students who are able to complete an intensive clinical component within the program; and/or conduct practical research related to facilitating students with special needs placed in traditional classrooms.
