Dr. Don B. and Mrs. Martha Weser

Establishing this scholarship provides a way to give back to FSU for the many years that I have taught here. Formerly, I taught with the Georgia Institute of Technology, Clemson University, and the University of South Carolina as well as several other institutions of higher learning. At Frostburg State University, I was the faculty advisor for 33 years of the Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society which later became the Student Members of the American Chemical Society. I also served as the Western Maryland Councilor of the American Chemical Society for 30 years.

Many students traveled through my classes and laboratories in the 33 years of my teaching experience at Frostburg State. They have gone beyond these walls to acquire advanced degrees in chemistry, biology, medicine, pharmacy, and various other related fields. Some have become teachers and professors at all different levels. Others have gone into industry. Still, others have been very successful in the health professions. I am very proud that the lives of those students have become such notable success stories. Therefore, I dedicate this scholarship to the wonderful students that have been my privilege to teach in my career at FSU.
