Student Support Services Staff, Alumni & Friends

Several years ago, on the occasion of her graduation, the parents of one of our TRiO Student Support Services students sent us $100 as an expression of appreciation for the support and help their daughter had received from the SSS staff. That $100 gift was the seed that eventually grew into the TRiO Student Support Services Scholarship.

The TRiO Student Support Services Program has been a fixture at FSU since 1973 and supports first-generation and/or low income college students as they navigate the unfamiliar territory of higher education. The services include intensive academic advising, tutoring, and financial aid and economic guidance. The TRiO Student Support Services team works to create a caring, supportive environment that enhances students’ opportunities to achieve their academic goals. The scholarship is awarded annually to an SSS participant who embodies hard work, resilience, and commitment to earning a degree.
