Classmates, Friends and Family of Glenn R. Scott '78
Glenn Scott was an icon at Frostburg State.
Glenn was personable, kind, generous, outgoing and comfortable in every setting. Physically, Glenn was without peer, and was instantly recognizable on campus, but perhaps his most enduring characteristics were his quick smile and engaging personality. During his time at Frostburg, Glenn made countless friends, which resulted in a continual parade of visitors to his room in Frederick Hall. He was simply a joy to spend time with.
Glenn was born and raised in Baltimore and graduated from Northern Senior High School. He came to Frostburg on a football scholarship and quickly distinguished himself on the field, earning four letters in four years and was recognized as the 95th inductee into the Bobcat Sports Hall of Fame in 1994. As mentioned in the recap of his football career in his Hall of Fame induction, Glenn had a sensational freshman year in which he started eight games, and then started every game at tackle the rest of his career. Glenn was considered Frostburg’s greatest football player during the mid-1970’s, often a “one-man” gang who was all over the field on defense. Among his honors he was named an all NAIA District tackle in 1976 and Frostburg’s Most Valuable Player in 1976 and 1977.
Glenn graduated from Frostburg with a degree in Political Science in 1978. After Frostburg, Glenn continued his football career playing semi-pro football for several years. Glenn enjoyed sports and was also an avid skier, a skill he picked up during his time at Frostburg. Glenn was a skilled and talented craftsman which gave rise to Glenn starting his own home improvement business which he operated for years.
Glenn was an excellent representative of Frostburg State on and off the field, and his time at Frostburg played a significant role in his professional life. Glenn was part of a large family and he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren whom he dearly loved.
