Black Student Alliance Alumni and friends of Bill and Pansye Atkinson

The Black Student Alliance (BSA) Mr. and Mrs. William “Bill” and Pansye S. Atkinson Legacy Scholarship was established by African American alumni to honor the outstanding dedication and extraordinary commitment that the Atkinson team continually provided to Black and other minority students in order to ensure their successful academic performance, retention, and graduation, and to meet and exceed State of Maryland higher education goals.
Mr. and Mrs. Atkinson helped to establish the Black Student Alliance to preserve and perpetuate the cultural identity and heritage of Black people in America by instituting programs of such a nature as to transmit a greater awareness and understanding of said culture and heritage to the general campus population, the city of Frostburg, and its surrounding communities.
