Thomas and Irene '47 Albright
My intent is that my gift to the FSU Foundation will enable a needy student who has a life-long dream of becoming an elementary school teacher. I had that dream from the time I was in first grade. My dream became a reality with a loan from the Homemaker’s Club, my grandmother’s praying, my parents’ frugal savings, and the State of Maryland which forgave tuition in exchange for a pledge to teach three years in the state. I loved teaching second and third grade children. My husband became a math teacher with the help of the GI Bill and taught in Maryland for 30 years. “One poor little girl’s dream can impact so many lives.” I could ramble on with precious memories. With my gift, more lives will be impacted and the dream goes on. – Irene. M. Albright.
